Speakers’ Bio:
Dung Kai-cheung is an award-winning writer from Hong Kong. He began writing in the early 1990s and has published more than forty books. Amidst many themes, Dung’s work has focused on history, memory, and family, setting most of his works in Hong Kong. Dung continues to write and publish very actively. Dr Wai Ping Yau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. His expertise spans translation studies, adaptation studies, and Chinese and Hong Kong literature and cinema, with a teaching focus on translation, adaptation and intercultural studies. Yau's translations and publications reflect his engagement with the intersections of language, culture and cinema.
